4 T , plus 1 T butter
1 c brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1/2 c flour
1/8 t salt
1/2 t vanilla
6 oz. chocolate chips (semisweet)
Preheat oven to 325
Use the 1 T butter to generously grease an 8x8 pan.
Melt the 4 T butter in large saucepan on low heat. Mix in brown suager and cool 10 min. or till lukewarm.
Stir in the egg, flour, salt and vanilla. Spread evenly in prepared pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the top.
Bake for 25 to 35 min. until edges pull away from pan and the top is shiny. Mixture will be soft. Cool for 15 min., then cut in squares but don't remove until completely cool.
